Biography
Karen Alquero has been teaching for 11 years. She started her career as an aide which sparked her interest in education. She has also worked in group homes which helps her work with her current students. She has been a cheer coach for middle school and was an ASB advisor. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from San Jose State University and has a Masters in Education from National University. She has been teaching at Riley for two years. She currently teaches U.S. History, English and Study Skills Elective.
Karen was born in the Philippines and moved to the U.S. when she was 9. She is able to speak her native languages of Tagalog and Kapangpangan. She is currently learning to speak Spanish. She has a four year old daughter whom inspires her daily. Outside of professional interests, she enjoys traveling, shopping, working out and hanging out at the beach.
