Particia Higareda

Patricia Higareda was born in Mexico and moved to the U.S. when she was 7 years old. Ms. Higareda is fluent in her native language of Spanish.  She has been in the education field for 30 years. Ms. Ms. Higareda has taught all grade levels, ranging from Pre-school to 12th grade. Her teaching path began as an aide, which sparked her interest in education.  In Early Childhood Education, she worked as a preschool teacher, and home base teacher providing developmental intervention services to children and their families. 
Ms. Higareda then became an elementary bilingual teacher and several years after a Special Education teacher, working in elementary, middle school, and high school.  This is her first year at Marcy High.   


Ms. Higareda obtain her Early Child Development Associate Degree at San Diego Community College.  Ms. Higareda received her Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts and Master of Education with an emphasis in Special Education from San Diego State University. She became credentialed in multiple subject Bilingual Education and Mild-Moderate Special Education. Ms. Higareda is currently pursuing an Administrative Credential at San Diego State University. 


Ms. Higareda has four grown kids and a two-year-old granddaughter. She enjoys spending time with family and traveling.
